Why Go Hybrid?

Aside from the decided prestige of driving around in a Hybrid Honda Civic, Honda Insight or Toyota Prius, here are the other reasons that should convince you to go with a hybrid car:

It is perfect for driving in the city, through stop and go traffic and idle driving. The hybrid engine has a great battery storage capacity that can store and reuse recaptured energy. Especially when there is heavy traffic, significant amounts of energy that is normally wasted during braking may be recaptured; a phenomenon called regenerative braking. This mechanism reduces vehicle speed by converting some of its kinetic energy into another form of energy.

Having both the gasoline or diesel engine and the electric motors working to reach full power requires just the average performance of the gasoline or diesel engine instead of peak power usage.

You can shut down the gasoline or diesel engine during traffic stops or while coasting or other idle periods to save on precious gas.

The great advantage of a hybrid car is that it essentially achieves greater fuel economy and lower emissions than the conventional internal combustion engine vehicles. Not only do you save on your gas consumption, you also help save the environment.
