Boost Up Your Car’s Fuel Economy

Here is a couple of tried and tested ways guaranteed to increase your car’s fuel economy and help you save up on some greens:

savings

  1. Reduce speed.
  2. Smoothen up your driving. Accelerate slowly and be on the watch for slowdowns so that you don’t speed up then just end up hitting the brakes right after, that’s a waste of fuel. Shift early to minimize the revolutions and give less stress to your engine (and fuel consumption).
  3. Buff up your tires. Tires that are not sufficiently inflated have more rolling resistance, this means that the tires have a reduced capacity to keep rolling along; this deficiency is assuaged by the engine- making it work harder and thus burn up much more fuel.
  4. Do not be AC dependent. At slow speeds, turning off the air conditioning and opening the windows saves up a lot of fuel. For faster speeds though, the air drag on open windows cause the engine to exert more force and end up consuming more fuel. Whenever possible, sacrifice the AC when cruising slowly.
  5. Travel light. This is not exclusive to your bags and luggage while traveling but also to vehicle as well. Take the time to clean out your car once in a while because the heavier your car is, the more fuel it uses up.
